Hell has frozen over, ravens are flying backwards round the Tower of London and I have now seen *everything*

RPS featuring Will Young of Pop Idol and the disturbingly high-trousered Simon Cowell... containing everything I find repugnant, including rape and twincest.

Ding ding ding, I believe we have a winner in the "what the fuck are you *thinking* of?" category

And now I must go ride round London in an open-top bus

I'm not sure what's more disturbing - that someone thinks this kind of stuff is a good idea, or the people who seek it out for pleasure. The "cease and desist" letter was one of the weirdest offlist admin messages I've ever sent.

Well, I read all of the headers, and even skimmed quickly through the story, trying to find out WHO THESE PEOPLE WERE. Because I harbored the sneaking suspicion that they were the author's neighbors, or something, and that really would be too much.

I gather, from your post that they're some Take That teen pop idols and/or talk show hosts in Britain, and I'll leave it all at that. Oy. I mean, an amusing thing to wake up to the fait accompli, down to listmom smackdown in my inbox, but oy.

That was a smackdown? Seriously? I wrote to the author offlist and said that RP fic was forbidden as per the FAQ but that she was welcome to post other works, then went to the list and said I'd dealt with the matter to get people to stop quoting the FAQ and prolonging the agony of seeing that subject line keep coming up in the box. It's not as if I called her down in public for being too stupid to read the FAQ and too bizarre to be allowed to use a word processor - but if it WAS too strong on the list then I'd be glad to apologize for it.

Heavens, no. I was being, um, verbally effervescent. The tone of your public post was quite polite. But between the posts, I was inferring "Yeah, that was assholish. I smacked some behinds and you all are safe now." (I suspect I can imagine a smackdown more entertaining than the real mccoy, more's the pity.)

You were polite and firm and reassuring to the potentially traumatized list members. Which, on the whole, is a good thing in a listmom.
