A thieving bastard writes...

Stolen from Sabine, who got it from Victoria P etc etc.

#1. Your Favorite REM song
Me In Honey, although Daysleeper is about my life

#2. Your Favorite Judy Garland song
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, although it makes my mum cry

#3. Your Favorite David Byrne song
"Lazy" with X-Press 2, because it is on the effing radio all the time at the moment. Although I do love it.

#4. Your Favorite Roy Orbison song
You Got It

#5. Your Favorite Beatles song
A Day in the Life. Although I want to hedge and say the version of "And Your Bird Can Sing" from Anthology where they crack up on it and "Across the Universe" and also "Please Please Me" and "Strawberry Fields Forever"

#6. Your Favorite Simon and Garfunkel song
America. Because it reminds me of driving up the Pacific Coast highway with Fi and Rachel

#7. Your Favorite Old country song (young country need not apply)
uh, as in country music? Rhinestone Cowboy. heh heh

#8. For all you emo/indie boys and girls out there, your favorite white stripes song
So tired of the White Stripes/Hives/Strokes hype. The Buzzcocks were doing it 25 years ago. Therefore my answer to this question is "Another Girl, Another Planet" by the Only Ones

#9. One song or even genre you can't stand
"Hey you bitches! I have loads of ugly gold jewellery and a big gun to compensate for the fact that my dick is the approximate size of a matchstick and I have the kind of personality that makes sane women vomit" type rap music. That would be rap with the silent 'C' then, would it?

#10. Your Favorite Elvis song.
Suspicious Minds

#11.Your favorite Rolling Stones Song
Gimme Shelter. It may be the best rock song ever recorded. YMMV, natch

#12. Your Favorite artist/group who not many people know about and your worship makes you feel uber cool. (can you hear my eyes rolling?)

Couldn't be cool if I lived in a fridge. If I have heard of it, ergo it is not cool. However...

I love these bootleg sites, naughty and illegal though they may be. I highly recommend the following MP3s to anyone with a fast connection:

**Elbow's cover version of Destiny's Child's "Independent Woman", which is done as a polka and in a broad Manc accent. No shit. I thought it was hysterical.

**"With Britney but without Me" by DJ Psycho, which is a cut up of Eminem's Without Me and Britney Spears' Overprotected

** "A Stroke of Genie-us" Christina Aguilera meets The Strokes. Hi-jinks ensue.

**"Can't Get Blue out of my Head" Kylie meets Blue Monday

Hey, we've got that one! (Thanks to Andy's obsession with late 70's/early 80's power-pop and post-punk.) We play it sometimes on our radio show -- probably the only airplay it's gotten in the US since the year it was released (if then).
