Apparently...

I am a dolphin according to the test. While I appreciate that in general terms, the analysis is way off.

If anyone wants a quick character analysis, answer these questions:

(1) What is your favourite animal -- can be domestic or wild. Give four reasons why.

(2) What is your second favourite animal (again with four reasons why)

(3) You are on a path through a forest. Describe it. What kind of forest is it and what is your journey like?

(4) You are by the sea. What is it like and how do you feel about it?

Answers, if anyone can be arsed, next time I get to a computer

playing your evil little game...
I give.

---

a) favorite animal: giraffe

-I like their colors
-I like their long graceful necks and pretty eyes
-I like that they're from Africa
-I did a research project on them in fourth grade and know more giraffe facts than anyone has a right to

b) second favorite animal: cat (yawn, I know)

-They're pretty and sleek
-They have character
-They make great pets--they'll snuggle sometimes but they don't always want to be at your side slobbering on you and you can go away for a weekend and just leave food on the porch
-They're nice to pet

c) Journey through forest thinger:

I suppose it's a nice, light-filled forest, probably redwood since that's what I grew up near. The light filters down through the branches and little dust motes hang suspended. There's this lovely, woodsy small, rather cedary. The path is soft, and while it meanders around a lot, it doesn't go up or down hill. Probably a little stream or two with a bridge across it, just for fun. The ocean is nearby, maybe down a hill, and you can just hear the sound of the surf.

::missing NorCal::

d) sea thinger:

It's a cold beach, cold sand, lots of wind. I have to be all bundled up because that's how it is up in Northern California. There are big, rocky islands just off the coast. I'm walking down the beach but not in the water, because it's so cold it would take your toes off. It's lovely just to walk here and think, and I like the meeting of sea and land, but I don't particularly want to go swimming or anything because I'm kind of scared of deep water. Lots of sharks around here. It's nice just to walk until the sun sets.

This is the part where you tell me I have the personality of someone who takes goofy tests, right?

Re: playing your evil little game...
And I too am a dolphin, though I can't figure out why. Never had much affinity for them.

they went to the one about the big war, I didn't, I'd seen it before
(1) What is your favourite animal -- can be domestic or wild. Give four reasons why.

mmm, how about a lion. The one from Magritte's Homesickness, my favorite painting. why?

-they're cruel, but only because they like to be on their own.
-they're regal, because someone decided they were kings
-I have this comic with a lion in court. The judge says "you were hungry? case dismissed." so I like lions because they'll kill to eat, without remorse
-what a lovely honey color!

(2) What is your second favourite animal (again with four reasons why)

I'm not sure I have a second favorite animal. I'm not big on animals. [abstaining]

(3) You are on a path through a forest. Describe it. What kind of forest is it and what is your journey like?

It's dark, peaty, sort of a vague suburban forest, not far from a town. there's evidence of humanity, maybe beer cans on the ground. broken chunks of wet bark. fat deciduous trees, and what's left of a bridge someone once made, the frayed ends of a rope swing. I climb up the hill, up the path marked by lots of feet before. someone carved a bench into that tree, so I'll sit there a little, to see why they decided to build it there. I'll push on a little further. swat away bugs. check my watch.

(4) You are by the sea. What is it like and how do you feel about it?

I'm on the santa monica boardwalk, july 4th 103.1 radio festival, before that station went spanish. lots of people, playing games. I want lobster. down below, there's waves, and a tent on the beach, where Cirque du Soleil has set up. it's dark. nice sea breeze, the almost-smell of the Pacific. there are kids sitting on the hoods of their cars on the sand, casting fishing lines out into the water. I take the metal stairs down with SKL, and we wander over to see if we can crash Cirque du Soleil, and then in the dark we take our shoes off and let the waves lick our ankles a little. we don't go in. it's cold. I like the sharp bite of the salt. I'm afraid of sharks and jellyfish.

and I'll tell you, K. I can't imagine what sort of test this is that'll give you answers from that, but I can't wait to see it. thanks for this.

because I'm pretty sure I'm not a wolf, when all is said and done.

got a killer headache, though.

I can't be a wolf, so...
let's see:

(1) What is your favourite animal -- can be domestic or wild. Give four reasons why.

In the spirit of my thirteen-year-old self, I'll say HORSE.

1. They're useful creatures, helpful but not slobbery like dogs.
2. They somehow inhabit that line between domestic *and* wild.
3. They seem full of unreleased strengh. Watching them go from peaceful to a hard run is exhilerating.
4. Love their quiet personality. They're so calm but ...deep.

(2) What is your second favourite animal (again with four reasons why)

Mmm, Panther.

1. The get to skulk about in trees and remain surly yet dignified at all times
2. They're graceful, but not above ripping you to shreds.
3. they're all about attitude.
4. They're classed as big cats purely because they can roar.

(3) You are on a path through a forest. Describe it. What kind of forest is it and what is your journey like?

It's a deep, Appalachian moutain forest, miles from town. I'm walking a dirt path through the woods - a path I know well in a forest I'd know blindfolded. The trees are high and sunlight slants down through them to the overgrown floor. This is a forest full of hiding places and the artifacts of childrens' civilzations. I know most of this place like the back of my hand, but am not allowed to venture off the property line, marked by the creek.

(4) You are by the sea. What is it like and how do you feel about it?

It's a cool day on a northern beach, but the water is warm and inviting. The sun keeps disappearing behind clouds, and the wind blows sand into the food of the folks who are picnicking on the shore. I'm waist deep in the water and getting knocked around by the waves, but it's calmer underneath and I think I should get further out in order to avoid all the shoreline bashing. I feel happy to be here and warm and calm in the water. I float out over the breakers and float for a while.
