Stupid ideas breed like bunnies.

About three weeks ago, I thought it would be a cute idea to make an LJ icon for everyone on the reading list.

It wasn't a cute idea. It was a bloody stupid idea -- and I have to stop wasting time, so I'm chucking the ones I have so far in this entry. If anyone would like any of these, feel free to take them. Some are a bit rubbish but I like some of them a lot.

It's a very young Paul McGann from Withnail and I. He looks like the James I imagine on the occasions when I read 80s stories

I didn't really get very far with that. You were 43. But really, only about 15 or so actually sort of fit the person. That's part of the reason I gave up.

I was thinking 35 because I think it would be cool to have Ian Brown on an icon - but how can I go past 45? I am forever quoting that line. So can I take that one? Please?

I can't decide! But they're all so gorgeous, and generous, and geez! You sure do have a way with icons. Thank you so much for sharing them.

Possibly I will pinch a few of the HP and writing ones. Must clear out some space first....

49. You'd just been talking about musicals and I was listening to downloaded snippets of Into The Woods. But really, it doesn't quite fit because there's something that would work better, representing your essential 'ness' but I don't know enough about anime to make it

Nor is 49 particularly nice, being an early attempt at colouring black and white images through gradients and slapping lame quotes on 'em. But to be honest, if you liked Kirsty MacColl, 11 would work.

Lookin' pretty downbeat.
When I rewatched "Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense" a few weeks ago, I realized George W. must be a practicing Selfosophists -- surely he would adore any book entitled How to Overcome Your Fears by Making Others Fear You.

25 is from Shaun of the Dead, the moment where Shaun looks for the zombies.

Excellent film. I expected it would be just good silly fun and it turned out to be *genius*, one of the best films I've seen all year and certainly the funniest. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wow, these are terrific. You're so good at making icons! I say that it cannot be a waste of time to create such pretty. Except that it's probably also good to, you know, eat and sleep and stuff.

I nabbed a bunch, probably to live on my computer forever because I always find it so hard to say goodbye to the icons I already have. *g*

It's presumptuous of me to think that you made an icon with me in mind, but 4 jumps out at me. So much Snow Patrol lately.

I think it was when I had to try to think of anime and Stargate icons that I gave up. Because all I know of Stargate since evil Sky took it off air, is Gouald bad, SG1 snarky-pretty.

But I was thinking of you when I made 20. I often think that that's what you long to say to some people when you go all polite and forensic during flamey discussions. *g*

I'm glad you like them. It's so odd to see that Parabiosis icon now. It looks so different to the way I would do it if I were to make that same one now but I like it anyway. Such a lovely quote and the sentiment reminds me of the story, which I must read at least every couple of months.
