I will admit to being both morbidly fascinated and deeply disappointed. I really think he did it, and I also really think he'll get off.

Iam morbily fascinated too. Even assuming the greatest level of innocence possible, I wouldn't let the chap alone with children other than his own again.

From what little I've seen, I'm not too sure it's a good idea leaving him alone with his own kids either. I mean...facemasks and "these are my sons, Prince Michael and Prince Michael aka Blanket"? I'd say, ah well, at least they'll be able to afford the therapy, but...oops, maybe not.

In more interesting subjects, I have managed to watch and love all of VM, yet not get sucked into fannish things. It's either a miracle or an oversight. The jury is out.

I know, and the dangling off the balcony thing isn't good either. Some woman on the news said that were he not a lawyer-bothering superstar, those kids would have been taken into care years ago.

I'm not feeling any urge to write VM, but episode talk, icons? That might happen.

Sign that I am completely out of touch with the world-at-large: "Huh. Jacko? Who's Jacko? Oh! Oooooh. Right." Without my Flist to keep me sorta kinda aware, I might as well be living in a cave. Well, a cave with a kick-ass entertainment unit and broadband connection, but still a cave.

VM really is a cult isn't it *g*

It eats you, starting from the bottom. *g*

I gather you finished watching the series in full? Logan really is an ideal fannish hook, isn't he? Boy embodies the perfect marriage of angst and snark.

I did. I watched it backwards in the end. It worked out all right that way.

As for Logan, he is an absolute *arsehole*. Yet wonderful anyway. I am also unreasonably fond of Mr Mars, Wallace, Weevil and Meg. And Mac. Pretty much everyone.

You've joined our cult!!!!

Woo-hoo!!

Also, do you have any objection to nuts -- as far as ingesting them is concerned, I mean?

I have totally and completely joined your cult and I am indulging in viral marketing myself.

Also -- and thank you for this splendidly random comment -- I have no objection to the ingestion of nuts

It is marvy indeed. I am happy to report that it works just as well if you watch the episodes in backwards sort of order.

I trust you are converting Hap as we speak

Huh. I didn't even know the lawyers had finished. Of course, that's one of the advantages of not having cable. You don't get caught up in these things.

But you miss the tacky tacky countdown clock to MJ having to appear in court and the reporter frantically filling 30 minutes with nothing whatsoever of substance until the motorcade rolls in and interviews with someone who once clipped Bubbles' toenails in 1983 and...

Yeah. Why do I have cable again?

Who is Dave Chappelle? Is he the one that went a little bit loopdeloop and scarpered?

That's the one, though I'm not sure if he actually did have a breakdown.

He did a sketch where he's being questioned for jury duty in the Michael Jackson case, and he goes out of his way to assume 'reasonable doubt.' At the end, he's asked if he would let his son sleep at Jackson's house. "What?" he barks. "Hell, no!"

"Why did it take them just a day to arrest OJ, but they haven't arrested anybody for killing Biggie and Tupac?! Nicole Simpson can't rap!"

Was Dave Chappelle in the jury room last week? Cos the jury's justifications sound an awful lot like that.

It was very very tacky indeed. Having seen that the verdict was due from your post here I actually surfed over to the BBC website and streamed their live news feed in background. And got fascinated by... well, just how little news content was actually happening during that next hour while I did other things and the motorcade commentary continued.

Hmm. Maybe we don't actually need as-it-happens, up-to-the-minute reporting that much.

Not so much, no. Though when something actually does happen, it can be quite exciting. The rest of the time it's just endless filler

Excuse me, Dave Chappelle. With two p's.
