Help. Seeking suggestions

I wonder if I might ask your help. I'm looking for your favourite songs about New York. Doesn't have to have New York in the title so long as it's about the city.

Also, if you have any songs about America in general that you love, that would be good

(Or about London, but I think I have that mostly covered. Still, all additional suggestions welcome)

It's for a CD I'm burning for someone who's off on a trip to New York

ETA:
Songs I have:
Ryan Adams, New York
U2, The Hands That Built America
Sting, Englishman In New York
Stephen Fretwell, New York
Billy Joel, New York State of Mind

Springsteen. Of course. I think I might just have enough for a NY CD, since that's where he's going to live, though I might seek out some of these for personal consumption

I suspect a lot of Springsteen is not your thing, but some of it might be -- and Seeds would definitely appeal to the angry lefty in you who will dance on Maggie Thatcher's grave. *g*

Also the Hiatt, Earle, and Indigo Girls, as well. Hiatt and Earle are very much what I think of when I think of homegrown American musicians--they carry a lot of country influence but their politics isn't necessarily Nashville.
