Spread some love?

There's storm-force crappity blowing in, with fresh fronts of whatEVAH moving in from the south, bringing with them a frisson of meh. This is displeasing. Today, in the midst of all the meh, someone said very nice things to me and while it didn't transform my week or suddenly make me fart strawberry flavoured and have passing songbirds whistling Beautiful Day in time to my tippy-tappy footsteps, it was very, very nice. I'd like to pass the feeling on.

I always liked the idea of that snaps cup meme except they're always hosted in the LJ of someone I don't know from Adam about how someone writes TEH BEST Black Beauty/Skippy the Kangaroo crossover slash. Well, I exaggerate because of the meh, but you know what I mean. Instead let us have some love about people I give a bugger about
(or indeed, people I don't give a bugger about. I don't mind if I don't know you. It's all good).

Let us reduce the perilously high ambient level of crappity. Here's how it works:
1. Comment with your username or someone else's
2. Post a link to your comment on your own LJ, so that your friends will know where to find you -- or just point them in this direction so they can say good things and have good things said about them
3. People can reply to your comment with reasons why the individual concerned is Donna-like in his or her gorgeousness

IP logging is off. Anonymity enabled. No name will get no comments, promise.

(ETA caveat removed and to explain that I have had a good day. My boss said really good things about and to me and I am getting an unasked for raise, so I am not in need of further nice things. Which is not to say it's not *great* to hear but I wanted to host, in an invisible sort of way, a carnival of love)

Son of ETA: There's a p2 now, SHE HINTED. You could spread the love even further in a non-icky sort of way. I am off for a kip now. Be excellent to one another and feel free to add your name to the end of the thing.

ETA, the revenge: On p3 now. Please feel free to carry on. Incapable of sentences sodding coherent I am, so you'll have to amuse yourselves

I will nominate someone else and pimp this in my LJ.

Give up some love for kirbyfest and I will start.

I can't believe I haven't known her my whole life, seeing we mostly grew up just about 70 miles away from each other. She is one of those folks who just makes life better having them around, even if all you're doing is sitting on the couch and squeeing over the awesomeness of the Dr./Rose/Martha/Donna or throwing things at Torchwood because they do dumb things!

I'm on board with this.

kirbyfest is a lovely soul with intense strength and purpose. You are funny, snarky and very caring, and you help me re-connect with my inner squee, which is often a very difficult thing to do. You also make me want to kidnap George Clooney so he can meet you and see your wonderfulness so he can dump his supermodel of the week and be truly happy with you. I am, in addition, deeply envious of your hair.

I'm also going to snug you, se_parsons, because you always deflect this kind of thing away from yourself, and you deserve praise too. You're the single most generous person I've ever been privileged to meet; you are unfailing in your willingness to give goods, money, time, labor, anything your friends need, even (often) at very great expense to yourself. You wouldn't just help me kill someone who needed killin', you'd rent the wood chipper yourself and help me dispose of the body. You're also a great proponent of self-education, and it's a tremendous thing to be someone your friends can look to as someone who's researched an issue before expounding on it. You are intensely crafty (in both significant interpretations of the word) -- I think it's possible you could do absolutely anything if you tried. You are deeply, wickedly funny and a hell of a lot of fun to spend time with.

Miss kirbyfest is one I haven't known as long as some of the rest of the Chicago gang... but when I met you I was like "OMG. The ADORABLENESS!" Smart, funny, and cute as anything. And like jood, I'm jealous of your hair.

For kirbyfest: I love your humor and your heart, and how you never lose either one even when you're in the middle of very trying times.

And for SEP: I want you on my team after the apocalypse. Not only would you kick all kinds of ass, you'd make the collapse of civilization more fun!

I think it's interesting that in everyone's homicidal fantasies, you are the Thelma to their Louise (I mean, of course, late-movie Thelma; the scarily competent "I got a knack for this shit" Thelma) and helping them bury the bodies. I trust about five people in this world and you're one of 'em. You remind me of my gran, and I mean that as the highest compliment, because she was like Granny Weatherwax. Loving, wise, honest and willing to make the hard decision. You're also too hard on yourself.

As for Ms Kirbyfest, she is one of the imaginary people on my internets who I would most like to meet. She's smart, generous of spirit, funny and caring

Jill is awesome. Funny and so entertaining, and I wish I got to see more of her than I do.

And while I'm at it, you're my hero, SEP. When I see things, I wonder how you would feel about them. What you would do in my place. Your good opinion matters more to me than you probably realize.

I think kirbyfest is great, although I only met her once. But some people you know by the quality of their friends, and by that measurement, she's awesome indeed.

SEP is the one I want to be visiting when the Inevitable Zombie Apocalypse (IZA) occurs. She'll know what to do, and she'll bring us through to triumph with humor and great organizational skills! Also SEP has more discipline than a house full of dominatrices *g*--she Gets More Shit Done than anyone I know, and is incredibly generous with her time and energy as well.

kirbyfest is, hands down, one of the most thoughtful and fun people I know. When she asks if I want to go somewhere with her, I am guaranteed to have a great time. I always say yes.

Plus, your hair. Your gloriously curly hair.

SHUT UP AND SAY THANK YOU.

+++++

se_parsons, you are a force of nature. I am in awe of all that you do. That you can pack so much into the same measly 24 hours the rest of us have is astonishing. That you can do it all as well as you do is a mark of your keen intelligence and broad range of experience.

Plus, you have that awesome red hair! WANT.

kirbyfest: Funny and warm and silly and all the best things in life.

se_parsons: Would give almost anything in the world for you to finally and truly believe what a wonderful person you are. 'Cause you are, you know.

Kirbyfest: You are a wonderful, generous friend, a deep and thoughtful and wise listener, and also you make me laugh a whole ton.

SEP: You are astonishingly fearless, and I admire your fierce determination and principles. And also you make me laugh a lot :)

I think the fact that you chose to nominate a friend who hasn't been having the most awesome time of late speaks very highly of your loyalty as a friend, and of you as a loving and caring person, se_parsons. Plus, when I finally replace my bathroom, I know who to ask for advice!

As for Ms. kirbyfest, it's been a real pleasure to get to know you via LJ. You are funny and warm and real in ways that seeps through the electrons bonding these pages together. It's been a pleasure to get to know you.

One more for kirbyfest: You helped me SO much in the aftermath of the worst breakup ever. As one of the few who actually knew this person, you gave me perspective I sorely needed at the time. For that, I will always be in your debt.

Kirbyfest = made of awesome. She's funny and her hair is FANTASTIC (stop knocking it down because your curls are glorious, babe) and she's lovely and generous and smart. I'm v. glad I got to know her better this past couple of years! It's a joy to share fandoms with her.
