Spread some love?

There's storm-force crappity blowing in, with fresh fronts of whatEVAH moving in from the south, bringing with them a frisson of meh. This is displeasing. Today, in the midst of all the meh, someone said very nice things to me and while it didn't transform my week or suddenly make me fart strawberry flavoured and have passing songbirds whistling Beautiful Day in time to my tippy-tappy footsteps, it was very, very nice. I'd like to pass the feeling on.

I always liked the idea of that snaps cup meme except they're always hosted in the LJ of someone I don't know from Adam about how someone writes TEH BEST Black Beauty/Skippy the Kangaroo crossover slash. Well, I exaggerate because of the meh, but you know what I mean. Instead let us have some love about people I give a bugger about
(or indeed, people I don't give a bugger about. I don't mind if I don't know you. It's all good).

Let us reduce the perilously high ambient level of crappity. Here's how it works:
1. Comment with your username or someone else's
2. Post a link to your comment on your own LJ, so that your friends will know where to find you -- or just point them in this direction so they can say good things and have good things said about them
3. People can reply to your comment with reasons why the individual concerned is Donna-like in his or her gorgeousness

IP logging is off. Anonymity enabled. No name will get no comments, promise.

(ETA caveat removed and to explain that I have had a good day. My boss said really good things about and to me and I am getting an unasked for raise, so I am not in need of further nice things. Which is not to say it's not *great* to hear but I wanted to host, in an invisible sort of way, a carnival of love)

Son of ETA: There's a p2 now, SHE HINTED. You could spread the love even further in a non-icky sort of way. I am off for a kip now. Be excellent to one another and feel free to add your name to the end of the thing.

ETA, the revenge: On p3 now. Please feel free to carry on. Incapable of sentences sodding coherent I am, so you'll have to amuse yourselves

Re: Get the love on for...
They say you can tell the quality of someone by the calibre of their friends... she puts words together in a jaw-droppingly beautiful way too.

Re: Get the love on for...
I don't know if you know this, loosehorses, but years ago you helped me more than I can properly express when I was struggling with something personal. Thank you so much. And besides that, your writing makes me knees weak every time, you are unfailingly lovely to your friends, and you have adorable dogs. You're one of those people I wish lived in my neighborhood so we could have coffee.

Re: Get the love on for...
You are, single-handedly, the MOST intense, most brilliant, and most awe-inspiring person I have ever known. Period. I have watched you for years, and I can say with total honesty that watching the way you live your life with fearlessness and assurance has taught me how to be myself. I envy your passion and confidence, and I could not possibly express to you (or anyone) what gifts you have given me.

This sort of makes me want to cry. In a good way.

I wish good things for you, ot. You're a hell of a writer. You face your struggles with dignity. You make me laugh.

Re: Get the love on for...
I love the way you express yourself: your humor, your stories, your poems, your photos, your collages, your life. I think you're brave and passionate, silly and charming, witty and wise.

All of which is encompassed in my favorite of all your icons: the Bone-Fro. :)

Re: Get the love on for...
Oh my gosh. So smart, so funny, so good with words that I don't know how to word it. Generous, animal-loving, adorable Orangetip. And the poetry... is in a category all on its own, way high above anything I could ever consider doing. I'm proud to call you my friend.

Oh man, A. There's just something about you that knocks my socks off all the time. You're someone of such depth and dimension that even though I only know you through words on a screen, you seem more real and more alive than a great many people. I'm in awe of your writing talent but also of your generosity of spirit, your sheer unflagging and smiling persistence in the face of all the shit illness and people and life can throw at you. and the mindfulness with which you seem to move through life. Plus you introduced the amazing, astonishing words of Larry Levis into my life. I often find myself holding my thumbs to wish for good things for you.

Re: Get the love on for...
I hope that this won't freeze on me again!

There have been a lot of kind words said in this thread, which I happen to agree with, but there's one missing. When I think of you, I think, 'grace'. Because no matter what happens to you, you have not lost your sense of humor. Misplaced it upon occasion, certainly, but that bright spark that is you is always there, burning merrily. I hope that never changes.
