Episode 5 of Being Human is up on the BBC blog ahead of tomorrow's transmission.

It may well be the best hour of television I've watched this year, with one enormous caveat. If you're not watching this show, bloody hell, you should be. It's funny and ingenious and occasionally heart-breaking.

I'm afraid I can't really summon up enthusiasm for anything else. I've had a crap day and some bad news and, God, can I go back to work already? Next week can't come soon enough.

I understand the resistance to Mitchell because the first one was so good, but Aiden whatsisface is charming and does darkness really well.

I wondered whether maybe they wanted Herrick to be jokey and slightly rubbish and then when you get to the horror of the feeding rooms, he's revealed as someone truly sinister and yet a bit of a bureaucrat with his whole New Labour, new world order vampirism. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

As for the third episode of Moses Jones, I quite liked it save for the infodump at the end. I did wonder whether they'd pulled a Devil's Whore and compressed the story a bit, which meant the final revelations were faster than they would've liked. The infodump at the end was very unsubtle. Then there's the fact that once you know what Mutakula is, he's just less scary than someone who has this weird far-reaching power in the community just from the whisper of his name.
